Did you play sports growing up that involved using one arm more than the other?

Baseball, tennis, volleyball, etc. I bet you used that arm over and over again, right? Or are you somebody that always sleeps in the same weird position every night? Kinda curled up with your head tilted to one side? Or you're starting to realize that one or both shoulders are creeping up closer and closer to your ears almost like earrings. All of these things over time accumulate and make it easier for you to hurt your shoulder. However, it is very important to know that your shoulder is not necessarily the cause of your shoulder pain. The other two major areas that can cause shoulder pain originate in your upper neck and in your mid back. Misalignments in the upper neck cause the nerves that go to your shoulder to not work correctly. Chiropractic adjustments are the best way to correct the alignment of your upper neck allowing your shoulder to feel better, move better and function better. The same goes for your mid back. If you have misalignments in your mid back it can affect how your shoulder moves. Overtime, these movements can lead to inflammation, degeneration, and discomfort in your shoulder. Adjustments to the mid back and shoulder allow your shoulder to go back to moving correctly and allow it to feel better. If you want your shoulder to start healing correctly from past traumas or current improper movements, then be sure to reach out and give us a call so we can help!

Shoulder pain
  • Yes, chiropractors work on shoulders. The shoulder is a complex system with many muscle and ligament connections. This is why we focus not only on the specific area of pain, but also the surrounding support the shoulder has. This helps us truly discover the CAUSE of the issue and then solve the problem. Adjustments to the spine provides relief or stimulation of the nerves that supply the shoulder. We've had massive success with shoulder issues and will continue to help you keep your shoulder issues away. If you have a shoulder issue then please feel free to schedule your first appointment here
  • There are many things that can cause shoulder problems. Physical traumas from sports, exercise, or accidents can lead to immediate shoulder pain. If the problem is never corrected, then oftentimes the shoulder heals incorrectly and the same pain can be experienced again in the near future. Poor posture while working, sleeping, driving, or even watching tv can lead to shoulder misalignments as well. The alignment needs to be corrected in order for your shoulder to start to function correctly again. • Yes, chiropractors are very good at diagnosing and treating shoulder and arm pain. In fact the majority of the time, the cause of the issue stems from the spine. If the spine is misaligned and affecting the nerves that control the shoulder, then you can do all the rehab you want to the shoulder without benefit because the issue is actually in the spine. This is why we have a full body approach to ensure that nothing goes unnoticed. When we discover the cause of your shoulder pain and arm pain we are then more equipped for getting better long term results. • There are 4 joints present in the shoulder, meaning there are several ways to adjust the shoulder. Which shoulder adjustments to perform strictly depends on the issue at hand. A gentler approach may be used for shoulder pain that is more acute. A muscular approach may be used if there is muscular damage or scar tissue buildup that needs to be addressed. Multiple different shoulder adjustments may be used if there are issues at multiple joints that make up the shoulder. It truly depends on what you show up with. This is why we refuse to have a "cookie cutter" approach and instead treat you for exactly how you show up. • Shoulder tightness can occur in a variety of different ways for a variety of different reasons. If your shoulder is tight due to joints being misaligned, then a chiropractor is your best approach. Otherwise, the shoulder tightness will continue to come back because the CAUSE was not addressed. Chiropractors, including ourselves, often refer out to massage therapists for muscular issues once the neurological/skeletal issue is addressed first. We truly favor a team approach to get the best results for you and the rest of our Limitless Chiropractic family!
